As part of our Summer Series, we are excited to host a range of special activities throughout the week to entertain all guests.

Our Summer Series activities are complimentary but may be subject to change due to weather or holiday dates. Summer Series activities begin December 15 and run through to April 15.

Monday
Photography Excursion
Join photography enthusiast Markus to discover some of The Farm’s secret beauty spots and learn how best to capture them with your camera. Head off the beaten path to find stunning panoramas of rolling landscape, where Markus will share tips and tricks to harness the light and utilise your camera’s full potential. Meet in the main lodge at 12pm.
Tuesday
Aviary Walk & Sanctuary Talk
Cape Kidnappers Wildlife Preserve offers a fantastic opportunity to discover the curious and beautiful birdlife of New Zealand. See native Kakariki, Kaka, Kereru, Tui and grey warblers in a coastal and native forest habitat. Meet at the main lodge at 10am.
Wednesday
Farm to Fork Foraging
Enjoy a guided late morning garden tour, hosted by a member of our kitchen and gardening team. While you are guided through the garden, we will share the provenance and reasoning behind our vegetable garden plantings and how the produce complements Chef James's cuisine and the food philosophy at Cape Kidnappers. Meet at the main lodge at 11am.
Thursday
Stargazing
The Southern Hemisphere plays host to a magnificent array of stars and constellations and Cape Kidnappers’ rural, coastal vantage point makes it perfect for stargazing. Enjoy an evening under the stars as astronomer Gary Sparks guides you through our skies in this fantastic experience. Meet at the main lodge following dinner at 9.00pm.
Friday
Guided Property Walk
Step outside and discover the 6,000-acre property first hand with a guided walk. From panoramic coastal views, towering stratified cliff faces to historic Maori Pa sites and Australasia's largest mainland gannet colony, Cape Kidnappers is home to diverse range of attractions. Explore the property and learn about the region from our knowledgeable guide. Depart the main lodge at 4pm.
Saturday
Wine Appreciation Class
Hawke’s Bay is New Zealand’s oldest wine region and consistently produces award-winning varietals. Join a Cape Kidnappers wine expert in our Wine Cellar to taste some of the fine wines that Hawke’s Bay and New Zealand has to offer. Meet in the wine cellar at 4.00pm.
Sunday
Golf Clinic
While staying at Cape Kidnappers, you have an internationally renowned golf course at your disposal. Hone your skills or take your first foray into the world of golf with our Sunday golf clinic. Our resident PGA professionals will examine your short game, full swing and discuss the nuances of our exceptional course. Meet at the Pro Shop at 2pm.
