A wonderful spring weekend is in store at The Farm at Cape Kidnappers when chef and cookbook author Danielle Alvarez comes to the lodge to host some special culinary events, sharing a lifelong love of beautiful cooking!

In anticipation of her new and aptly titled book, Recipes for a Lifetime of Beautiful Cooking, the American-born chef with Cuban roots will host a cooking demonstration and talk and collaborate with Chef James Honore for a special dinner over two inspirational days in Hawke’s Bay.

Danielle’s resume reads like a who’s who roll call of culinary royalty. She worked with some of America’s finest, first at The French Laundry and later landing her spot at the famed Chez Panisse. Over this four year stint under the legendary Alice Waters, Danielle learnt first-hand about farm-to-table cooking, responding to the seasons, and working with a menu that evolved daily.

A fabulous time and much culinary inspiration for “ a lifetime of beautiful cooking”  is assured at The Lodge at The Farm at Cape Kidnappers as we welcome the wonderful Danielle Alvarez.

Friday Afternoon
The weekend at Cape Kidnappers will kick off on the Friday afternoon with a "meet and greet Danielle Alvarez" cocktail hour before enjoying an a la carte dinner.
14th October
Saturday Morning
Saturday morning after breakfast, Danielle will host a one hour demonstration and talk, sharing her philosophy of “considered cooking”, coming from the heart and the mind, creating food to nourish yet with an eye to respecting and valuing producers. The rest of the day is free for guests to spend time playing a round of golf on the spectacular course, relaxing in the spa, exploring the beauty of the 6000 acre Cape Kidnapers farm, or perhaps just enjoying a leisurely lunch.
14th October
Saturday Evening
Saturday night's 5-course tasting menu, served to matched wines, will combine a few of Danielle's favourites from her stellar restaurant career alongside some of the favourite dishes Danielle prepares at home and which feature in her new book. This long table convivial dinner promises to be an evening of warmth, style and wonderful flavours.
15th October
Sunday provides more lodge time for simply enjoying all that makes a Robertson Lodges stay so special.
