EVENT DETAILS
Monday
Cape Sanctuary Nature Encounter
After a short walk along Trigg Road, you will arrive at the Aviary at Cape Sanctuary, where special breeding programmes mean rare, native birds now thrive here. Learn about the Cape Sanctuary; a haven for protected native birds and animals, including the iconic North Island brown kiwi, the kaka and kakariki parrots and the prehistoric tuatara – known as New Zealand’s dinosaur.
Tuesday
Tour of The Farm's Vegetable Gardens
Experience our spectacular vegetable garden with an informative tour. Hawke’s Bay is widely known as the Fruit Bowl of New Zealand, and with its abundance of vegetables, berries and herbs, our vegetable garden fits that description perfectly. Fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables are key to our daily changing menus, and this is your chance to learn more about the fresh produce featured by our chefs.
Wednesday
Photography Workshop
Join photography enthusiast Steve Grooby to discover some of The Farm’s secret beauty spots and learn how best to capture them with your camera. Head off the beaten path to find stunning panoramas of rolling landscape, where Steve will share tips and tricks to harness the light and utilise your camera’s full potential.
Thursday
Stargazing
The Southern Hemisphere plays host to a magnificent array of stars and constellations and Cape Kidnappers’ rural, coastal vantage point makes it perfect for stargazing. Enjoy an evening under the stars as astronomer Gary Sparks guides you through our skies in this fantastic experience.
Friday
Guided Walk
Join our guide for an invigorating walk as you explore some of the 6,000 acres of farmland that make up Cape Kidnappers Station. Follow tracks over pastureland where sheep and cattle meander slowly along the hillside, and enjoy magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean and native bush.
Saturday
Wine Tasting
Hawke’s Bay is New Zealand’s oldest wine region and consistently produces award-winning varietals. Join our resident Sommelier Sonja Eberly in our Wine Cellar to taste some of the fine wines that Hawke’s Bay and New Zealand has to offer.
Sunday
